IPO Chairperson, Desiree Markgraaff is in full support of Mfundi Vundla’s position regarding rights and sharing in the ownership of Generations. Mfundi has been an active and committed participant on the IPO task team currently engaged in negotiations with the SABC to secure rights for the originators and producers of content – commissioned or other. Rights are at the heart of the ongoing negotiations between the IPO and the SABC regarding terms of trade and the growth and sustainability of the independent production industry.
Many of you are aware of the IPO’s ongoing discussions with the SABC regarding IP rights, terms of trade, operations, mark ups, cashflows, payments, etc. The IPO Task Teams have been very proactive around these issues. It is critical that the independent production sector remains united in its battle for rights and terms of trade.
