NFVF Council Members

Following the Department of Arts & Culture’s delay in appointing a new council for the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa (NFVF), with the previous term of office having expired in June 2006, the new council has been announced.

Three members from the previous council have been re-appointed, namely Charlotte Mampane (chairperson), Neo Sowazi and Mark Rosin.

The newly appointed council members are:

Deputy chairperson Monde Ngonyama, who has been a board member of the Port Elizabeth Opera House and is an executive member of the Cape Provincial Arts and Culture council.

Annabel Lebethe will represent the youth. Lebethe is a former sector manager for CREATE SA and formerly of the MAPPP-SETA. She has a background in training and transformation.

Samual Mphomela has 12 years extensive financial experience in the field of management with 40 major listed companies. He currently works for Rand Merchant Bank (RMB).

Nadia Bulbulia has a strong background in film and TV and has been a board member for ICASA, the Advertising Standards Authority and the World International Foundation.

David Bensusan is an educationist with a legal background. He is currently a lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. He has practiced law as an advocate at the High Court of South Africa.

Michael John Smith has a business background in film and TV production and is founder and director of Artists Technologies Africa.

Professor Pitika Ntuli has a strong academic background, is a poet and novelist and has been a board member for several organisations.

Sandra Gordon has a strong background in public relations and marketing and has launched and managed about 65 magazines. She currently manages a TV and film production company.

Mjinga Samuel Bhembe has a strong background in economics and finance. He is currently a divisional director at Nedbank Corporate Banking.
